MoDNR staff and a contractor recover containers “orphaned” by flooding on the Meramec River in St. Louis County. MoDNR handles removal and disposal of the containers, which may contain hazardous chemicals, to protect Missourians and the environment.
Local volunteers, including several high school students, help distribute bottled water, packaged food and other basics to flood survivors from Ripley County’s donations management center at the county fairgrounds in Doniphan.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and Catholic Charities teamed up to provide a replacement refrigerator for flood survivor Edward Powell of Ellington, Mo., who had attended a MARC and explained his critical need for a refrigerator so he could have access to insulin.
AmeriCorps St. Louis teamed up with Home Depot to help families in Bull Creek, near Branson, clean up and repair properties that sustained significant damage during the flooding.
Darrell Pratte, Missouri Department of Agriculture, delivered over 1,400 survey records to Pauline Peterman, Carter County Recorder, to replace documents destroyed in the flood. Some documents date back to the 1880s and preserve the county’s property line development. Surveys establish land corners, which are dependable references for identifying property boundaries.
